Kremer 70

  • Bach Concerto for Two Violins in D-minor (BWV 1043)
  • Sibelius Violin Concerto in D-minor (op.47)
  • Philip Glass Double Concerto for Violin, Cello

Gidon Kremer - violin, Giedre Dirvanauskaite - cello, András Keller - violin, Kremerata Baltica
    Conductor: András Keller

A tight-knit international team of stars bows before the legend, in the company of and with the participation of the great artist himself: Gidon Kremer is 70. The Latvian violinist started as a student of David Oistrakh and for the past near half a century he has been a permanent star in the firmament of global classical music. He has toured the entire globe, frequently (and to our great fortune) including Hungary on several occasions, given multiple concerts with Concerto Budapest, always to great acclaim. His celebrated international standing and the indescribable refinement of his play contrast in a remarkable way with his true modesty, humility and attention to detail.

He takes to the stage with Lithuanian cellist Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė (who arrives with Kremerata Baltica, as the leader of cello group), as he has done on many previous occasions, just as with the world-famou, as he has done on many previous occasions, just as with the world-famous András Keller, who performs at this exclusive birthday programme as violinist and conductor. The programme describes a huge arc embracing the music of 300 years from Bach via Sibelius right up to Philip Glass. The presence of contemporary music should come as no surprise since Kremer has always been at the forefront of those presenting and promoting lesser-known compositions.

Due to technical reasons the concert - originally scheduled for 9 April 2017 with Gidon Kremer - has been postponed for 19 May 2017 (the venue, programme and featuring artists remained unchanged).

Presold tickets and seasonal tickets are automatically valid for the new date. We are sorry for all the inconvenienences!

We look forward to seeing You at the concert!
