Finish mezzo-soprano Carolina Krogius is a member of the ensemble of South Thüringen State Opera in Meiningen, Germany.  In addition to winning the Ulrich Burchard award for Young Singers, since joining the ensemble in 2011 she has sung numerous leading roles, including Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia). Previous to her engagement in Meiningen she was awarded a position at the prestigious Thüringen Opera Studio program with performances in the theaters of Erfurt and Weimar.  She began her musical studies in Turku, Finland before moving on to the Royal College of Music in Manchester, England.

In addition to being an active recitalist and chamber musician, Ms. Krogius is in great demand for her interpretations of contemporary compositions.  She has traveled internationally for concert work and is increasingly sought-after for her acclaimed musicianship.
