The Concerto Budapest festival entitled A Celebration of the Violin will not take place in January due to technical reasons, the orchestra will instead reschedule the festival for early summer. Concerto Budapest will hold a Violin Gala on 18 January, in which several artists from A Celebration of the Violin will participate. “The staging of A Celebration of the Violin unfortunately encountered a number of technical issues and severe logistical obstacles related to the orchestra’s international commitments. Since the festival is of key importance, we wish to uphold not only its content, but also its artistic concept, so we had no choice to postpone the series of events. We are holding a Violin Gala on 18 January featuring Mariam Abouzahra, Kristóf Baráti, Barnabás Kelemen and Lilia Pocitari, who will perform concertos by Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Bartók,” chief music director András Keller stated.

After the visits of Christian Tetzlaff and Augustin Hadelich, another international star violinist is coming to Concerto Budapest to lead a session. Anthony Marwood, a violinist with a distinguished career as a soloist, conductor and chamber musician, will hold a free master class for exceptional talents studying at the university level at Concerto Budapest’s headquarters on Páva Street on 6 December from 17:00 to 19:00.

Mozart Day 2024 by Concerto Budapest – Live stream at Gramophone and Index.hu, broadcast under the artistic direction of András Keller and directed by Imre Szabó Stein, made it to the finals of the LOVIE Awards in the general category Music & Entertainment in Film & Video, where it is up against Epidemic Sound by Swedish Acumen Media for the gold, silver or bronze award, which will be announced in early November.

With artistic leadership from András Keller and Imre Szabó Stein as director, Mozart Day 2024 by Concerto Budapest – Live stream at Gramophone and Index.hu, has reached the final of the prestigious competition in the category Music & Entertainment in Film & Video. It will compete for the Lovie Award with Epidemic Sound, from the Swedish company Acumen Media. The results will be announced to the public at the start of November. A sibling to the American Webby Awards, the Lovie Awards (https://www.lovieawards.eu/) is considered the most prestigious competition in Europe for internet content (videos and adverts). Staying true to its traditions, it puts the finalists' work to an online international public vote, with the winner earning a People’s Lovie Award. The Arcus Temporum in Pannonhalma is preparing for its 20th anniversary between 23-25 August 2024. The contemporary art festival is a true community celebration, not only because of the two-decade anniversary, but also because this year the Benedictine monastic community is celebrating the 800th anniversary of the medieval restoration and consecration of the Basilica St. Martin. 

The five concerts of this year juxtapose the work of Mozart with that of the recently deceased Péter Eötvös, an exciting pairing in itself, not to mention the fact that the eminent Hungarian composer selected the works himself, with artistic director András Keller. 

One of the world's most sought-after violinists, Augustin Hadelich, Professor at the Yale School of Music, will join Concerto Budapest to perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, conducted by András Keller, on 28 May at Müpa Budapest. On the day after the concert, the artist will give a masterclass for exceptional talents in higher education at Concerto Budapest's Páva Street headquarters, which is free to all interested people.
