Its magnitude is greatness itself: perhaps this is one way of summing up this season’s ensemble offer for the Volumes season ticket, which promises an experience-rich meeting in the Liszt Academy with the likes of string artists Gidon Kremer, Sergei Krilov, Thomas Zehetmair and Keller Quartet as well as the pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja, and not one but two Buniatishvilis, Khatia and her sister Gvantsa. Masterpieces of Romanticism dominate the season ticket concert programmes; that said, there is still room to feature Bach and Mozart, Berg and Schnittke. As usual, the audience receives a bonus late evening contemporary premiere: a rearranged, new version of the Gyula Csapó concerto composed for viola and changing environment, with Gábor Homoky solo.
