BARTÓK Festival

In the autumn of 2025, Concerto Budapest will dedicate the Hungarian Gems Festival to the memory of Béla Bartók, marking the 80th anniversary of the composer’s death.

The three-day festival will begin on September 26 with a chamber concert at the Budapest Music Center, followed by four large-scale concerts at the Liszt Academy, where Bartók’s iconic orchestral works, including all of his concertos, will be performed by Kristóf Baráti, János Balázs, Gergely Bogányi, Mihály Berecz, Fülöp Ránki, Barnabás Kelemen, Máté Szűcs, and Miklós Perényi.

The festival program will be completed by two exceptional vocal works: the rarely performed  " Falun" Village Scenes with the Angelica Girls’ Choir, and the deeply mysterious Bluebeard’s Castle, featuring Szilvia Vörös and Miklós Sebestyén in the solo roles.

"I am convinced that Bartók’s spirit and the message of his art can be both an example and a driving force for the spiritual renewal of Europe," says András Keller, Chief Music Director of Concerto Budapest. The host of the Bartók Festival will be András Batta, Director of the House of  Music.
